Letter from the City Manager:
The City of Bovina has taken great strides in order to improve the quality of life and well being of its citizens and visitors by improving many features within the community, such as water and sewer infrastructure and law enforcement. Now, under the leadership of our new City Manager, Jana Pitcock, the City of Bovina has rejuvenated its desire and has charged its citizens to create a secure, friendly, altruistic environment for individuals of all types to enjoy. Construction of the Bovina Community Center will be a great resource to provide citizens and visitors with a safe, clean, and up to date establishment that will serve as a multifunctional center for many different activities.
One of the primary purposes of the Bovina Community Center will be to provide a venue for the purposes of holding various community activities. Access will be made available for use by local churches, schools, families, and children.
The facility will also serve as a law enforcement training facility, to teach a five county wide area the classes that the state requires officers to take in order to stay in compliance with licensing. Additional office space will be utilized to bring agencies to the rural area to provide citizens with needed services. Such agencies may consist of the Red Cross, various youth and senior programs, Panhandle Community Services, Rural Healthcare, and any other state or federal agencies that might be needed in the area.
